You also can't leave the country if you own the government a certain sum of money OR own a certain amount in child support OR a subpoena (which does not necessarily mean you could be in jail or could possibly end up there. Witnesses who are reluctant to testify can be served with them too.)
I like how you conveniently skipped over those other factors though...nothing says winning an argument by simply ignoring proof that your argument is garbage.
As for one's inability to enter a foreign country...another poster has already answered that and quite well. |
Nope, it was just too obvious to mention. It would have been as pointless as explaining what a pet and a dog are every time you show your friends a picture of your new puppy. |

This is about child support and taxes not loans. They are really going after dead beat dads.
Wow the U.S is a debtors prison!! Where exactly is the debtors prison located at??? |

technically not, but it SEEMS like getting arrested and even put in jail these days is alot easier than it used to be. don't you think this is kind of a big problem in america?
i mean, is the theme of this thread REALLY 'the finer legal points concerning the use of passports, how to define 'border', 'entering', 'exiting', and how to classify international waters, the sky, and some bridges that link 2 countries together?'LOL
or is it 'the implications of passport confiscation, debt slavery, and the totalitarianization of america?' i know what some frequent posters would answer, but i'd like to think there is a bigger issue at stake that some people might be interested in, especially AMERICANS since it concerns them. call me an optimist. |
There are definitely bigger issues in play, but making false claims only hurts the fight. The woman in question wasn't arrested for failure to repay her loans. Full stop. To somehow claim that she was is both disinguous and counterproductive. |
