lol says the guy who went to Itaewon on a SATURDAY NIGHT! Makes a lot of sense for you to head out there when you hate crowds at all.

I don't have an issue with the costume thing as I went to college in the United States and pretty much everyone dresses up for it.

College-aged young women wearing skimpy costumes is one thing. Big women in their 30's, 40's, and up wearing the same costumes is not good. Not good at all.

Maybe that's why the other posters drank so much scotch. They couldn't stay sober while viewing all of that excess flesh jiggling, and bouncing around, in the bars and clubs.

Agreed. But if you hate crowded places don't go to Iatewon on a Saturday night and then moan about it. That's like being a vegetarian, going to a Galbi restaurant and then complaining that there are too many meat dishes on the menu!

You're an idiot. I was complaining about the insane crowds last weekend. If they were like that every weekend in Itaewon I wouldn't have mentioned it. Regular Saturday's are fine, but last week was clearly not a regular Saturday. So telling me to avoid Itaewon every Saturday because it's insanely crowded on one particular Saturday each October is just retarded. You're not retarded now, are you?

Itaewon is too crowded for me on a normal Saturday night these days. Back in the day you could pretty much stroll into any bar in that area at 10 pm on a Saturday and get a seat.

This thread is full of people who forgot how to have fun and became ornery 30-year-olds.

Sit at home and sulk some more.

Every city in the US will have people of all ages dressed up in costume the weekend before Halloween. It hasnt been just a children's holiday since I can remember. There were plenty of Koreans out there having a good time as well. I dont see how people dressed up (and girls dressed down) is something to complain about. There are some seriously negative people around here.

Agreed. They sound like a bunch of grumpy old losers. I used to have a great time going out on Halloween before the kids and have no problem with other people having a good time on Halloween now. It you don't like, don't go to Itaewon the weekend before Halloween. There are million other places in Korea where no one will be dressed up. In fact, there are only a handful places in this entire country where people will be dressed up.

Nope. Itaewon is crowded every Saturday night so you're still a moron for whining about it. Maybe you'd be better off just staying in if you want to avoid the crowds sissy.

Halloween weekend is always celebrated the weekend right before Halloween, if it doesn't fall on a Friday or Sat.

I am guessing the OP is not North American. As a Brit, I don't feel the excitement of Halloween because it is not something adults tend to get excited about back home. Saying that, it doesn't make it right to sneer at other people for doing something that is basically harmless. As long as you don't go dressed as giant phallus or something like that, then no harm no foul.

Halloween has been St. Paddy'd.

St. Paddy's used to be a day to drink, and drink heartily and warmly, but it morphed into a serious DRUNK fest with people using the slightist bit of Irish affiliation as an excuse to go beserk. Real Irish cringe when they see Americans with an Irish Great grandmother act like complete sots.

At least during Paddy's Day in Korea people tend to behave and have the general spirit of getting whoever they can to join in the fun.

Halloween used to be a holiday where the kids would go Trick or Treating, the adults would dress up a little and get in a last BBQ or keep it classy over cocktails at someone's house. People would club and have fun, but they wouldn't turn it into a 1day version of Spring Break and go utterly insane. It turned into a "I don't want to grow old" fit.

And I've noticed a lot more general jackass behavior during Halloween.

Perhaps your memory is crowded from too many Ozzy and Harriot reruns. Back in the 70s and 80s Halloween was an excuse for a party. Well, it was on FSU's campus. I know, I was there. Good times. Good boozing times.

Kids have their trick or treat. Young people booze. Always have, always will. Any excuse will do. I know you know this.

We found another grumpy old man. Next you'll be saying things like, back in my day, we had to walk 1,000 miles in the snow with no shoes to get to school.
The kids today with their skateboards, Arg! Rolling Eyes
