You are not exceptional or extremely lucky. You are normal, experiencing normalcy. Self worshiping ass holes get spooked by being out of their comfort zone and lash out at an entire country. |

I find it a little puzzling when I meet Koreaboo types that say they love Korea. |
I wouldn't say I love Korea, but I like it. Most of the Koreans with whom I've interacted have been fine people that have treated me well, and the majority of the anger and complaint I see on this forum simply doesn't reflect my experience. Maybe I've just been exceptionally lucky in my interactions, I don't know. The only regular annoyance for me is traffic, I hate driving here. |
I've seen blogs and websites where people rave about how amazing Korea is. There is simply nothing amazing about Korea. At best, it's not bad or pretty good sometimes. It's certainly not hell on earth either. The people are largely nice enough, but their narrow ethnocentrism and blind nationalism can be frustrating sometimes. The driving probably reflects one of the biggest problems of Korean culture, which is the 'me-first and screw everyone else' mentality. |

I bet the majority of those blogs were written by people having their first experience in a foreign country. For a lot of them it's probably the first time they've lived independently too. There's also the fact that they probably want to make their friends and families reading their blog jealous about their wonderful lifestyle. Plus there's a general tendency for young people. especially North Americans, to go over the top about how 'awesome' everything is. |

Agreed. The other dude whining about "people that voted it worst must have not lived in many places" didn't take that into account, surely. |

This is pretty funny and it reeks of lack of experience living in other countries and of a rather amusing lack of knowledge about various countries on this planet.
If you think Korea is the worst country you have lived in, then you have not lived in vary many countries...
Good luck out there and don`t forget your pacifier when you travel next |
Says the man who lives in Canada, and hasn't lived in Korea for over 5 years. |

Lol ! Patrick's post was condescending and patronising.
Another armchair advisor who hasn't even lived here for years. He loved Korea so much...he left ! |

Oh you again -- your trolling is too pathetic , too banal, to answer. Go look elsewhere for someone stupid enough to take the bait -- steelrails might be about your level. |

No that was a serious question. I just give Chap a hard time. we are having a serious normal conversation in another thread. I just try to keep people honest and stop them from making over generalizations or over reaching on facts to the point that they become fiction.
I want to know. Why do you live here? |

Once a person marries a Korean, the choice whether to go or stay is no longer solely theirs to make (and this is especially true when children are involved). Many are planning an exit while trying- oftentimes without success- to get their wife on board.
Now I have a question for you (and wishfulthinkng, hubba hubba, etc.). If you hate this message board so much, why do you come here and post? Dave's ESL Cafe: Love It Or Leave It! |

Worldtraveler, don't get drawn in -- Coltronator is a troll. Check his online history here at daves esl -- it's all adolescent troll bait. He's steelrails pt2.
Just ignore both of them.
Don't give them the attention they crave and long for.

Really? That is my history? Maybe recently in the last 2 weeks or so. Usually I look for interesting threads. I also look for strange logic and try to help. I don't hate this board, i like it. it provides a lot of useful information to a lot of people. Just some people are uninformed and need help. (Tongue in cheek there) |

You must live in a bubble somewhere and not have to work for or interract with any Koreans. Self-employed?
yes, a lot of koreans are fine but there is an abnormally high rate of idiots- usually ajosshis- who opress others with their stupidity at every opportunity.

is korea the worst country you've been in? |
- Disgusting, reprehensible little men that behave like pigs
- "music" that could be used as a method of torture in guantanamo
- a cityscape that resembles a garbage tip
...yeah, maybe it is. |
