If anyone reading this is in Toronto, Clinton's is showing the game tonight and the Korean consulate will be there handing out beer and flags.

I'll be there, at least for a bit. I have blondish-brown hair and will be wearing a grey shirt. Come over and say hello.

My wife and son and going to the game in San Diego.

They will be wearing white T-shirts; and they are short, and both have black hair and brown eyes.

See if you can spot them.

The two tickets cost 70 USD. I moaned and said "Yobo, that's 30 beers!"

I think Korea's luck will run out this game. Everything has been going almost perfectly their way so far, perfect throws to the plate, timely hitting, poor opposing manager decisions - U.S. game walking the bases loaded to get Hee Sop Choi who then hits a grand slam, great pitching. In baseball even the best teams can only go so long with those things working 100%. I'm taking Japan.

Kim Byung Hyun strikes again. I reckon they might take away his passport, or put him back in the Army.

Yeah last I watch (turned off toward the end of the 7th) it was 4-0 and they were getting spanked pretty bad. The defense was good through the first 6 innings, but that's all that saved them up until then.

Over all they played a pretty crappy game!

6-0, game delayed because of rain.

Kim Byung Hyun totally sucked. I knew he wasn't in the zone after his first couple of pitches, but I had no clue he would come crashing down so hard. You could tell he wanted out long before the coach pulled him. I think the Japanese players simply psyched him out with their attempts to bunt the ball.

Yeah, reminds me of the World Series in which he allowed homers to the Yankees in key moments. It's obvious he's not a clutch player and chokes easily.

It was a good run though. Some good baseball throughout the series & some unexpected thrills. Now, Cuba or Japan?

"Caught in their own trap."
http://joongangdaily.joins.com/200603/19/200603192104377709900090109012.html

Quote:
Chicago Cubs outfielder Andre Dawson argued with an umpire over a decision and was fined 1,000 dollars. When he made out his check for the fine, he wrote in the memo line, "Donation for the Blind." If Team USA, which failed to advance to the semifinal round, were to pay a fine, the check should be noted, "A Fee for Falling into their Own Trap."

WTF??

One last comment on the WBC ...

I notice that NOT ONE Korean channel has the decency to show the final, whivh is being played right now. Absolutely shameful. Does this mean that if Korea doesn't make it to the World Cup final, we won't get to watch that either?

Well, they're not showing it on any Skylife channels. And last I checked, AFN wasn't a Korean channel.
