Just an impression...

Taiwanese are usually friendlier and not as freaked out by foreigners.

I lived there for a year, in Taipei.

I suspect Japanese are in the same boat. Just from what I have read though.

Koreans are often freaked out by foreigners. Just from 6 years here though.

General impressions. Not always true.

Anyone can be wonderful anywhere, and anyone can be a jerk anywhere.

These are trends I have perceived over a few years.

Damn.... you are taking the visitor for real?

Oh c'mon jajadue, EVERYBODY knows Korean women put out after the first date EASILY. Anything more than that and you must either be an inept social retard or have a face like a train wreck....C'mon dogbert and skachui back me up here!

Correct me i I am wrong but the title of the thread is
"straight up: Korean girlfriends?"

A gay question, would be
"straight up: Korean boyfriends?"

Oh wait, you are using 'gay' as a derogatory adjective..
now I get it.. how very high school of you

omg "how very high school of you", wow, did u think that up yourself?
give youself a pat on the back.

Back to your playstation son (little mixed girl).

Availability of local women to date would be one thing into THUH mix as to choosing a destination. For example I would count out Middle East, being a red blooded male, who enjoys women, for all intents and purposes its not gonna happen there.

McChristophermsw: Agreed, staying in shape is a HUGE part of it. 98% of women love fit, strong, healthy masculine men. Little mixed girl; trade in your x-box for a few sessions at the gym and see ur stock rise, then you wont be so intimidated when topics like this feed the thread.

Thuh end.

so, i'm a man now?
a man with ps2 AND an x-box who needs to hit the gym?

i'm not intimidated by anything, i'm laughing at how gay it is.
choosing a country based on how easy the women are to pick up?
if you are a real man with average - above average looks, a good personality, etc then there'd be no reason to ask because women from any country would be attracted to you.

you really need to check yourself before you call my use of "gay" high school, especially when u are just as childish. picking a job location based on how often u can get laid?
sounds like u have insecurities of your own. ie- i don't want to go to a country were women are unimpressed by my fat gut and sweaty hairy body. Rolling Eyes

However, there is a lot of crap about how we white women are oh so jealous of white guys out with Korean girls. Another woman I know has got so that she daren't look in the direction of a white guy out with a k girl, for fear of seeming jealous or having some problem with it. She only felt this paranoia after she began reading Dave's. She herself has been happily married to a k guy for many years and doesn't give a shyte about who anyone else dates. Me neither. I know some of you find it difficult to believe, but we just couldn't give a rat's arrse about who you want to jump/marry/look at/talk to. I'm happily married to a non-westerner myself, and I really don't give a shyte about what any of you do.

But it seems that many of the (male) posters on Daves would love to stereotype us all as seething jealous bitter betrayed ugly white females who refuse even to wear miniskirts and highheels for God's sakes - what spoilers!! I guess it makes some of you guys feel a little special to fantasize that we all really care so much about what you do. There's some kind of schadenfreud going on that feels especially delicious to some of you fellows. I wonder why? One can't help wondering if you often got looked over by the girls back home - and thus the sudden glee and enthusiasm you feel for dissing western women. It's juvenile.

Myself, I've never met a white guy in Korea I'd consider marrying - so I've no problem with a k girl taking 'my place'! That's said, I'm sure there are plenty of white men in Korea I would find attractive but, sadly, none of them have ever crossed my path! This is not an ideal place for meeting up with western men, as they are fairly few and far between and most of them seem straight out of university and very wet behind the ears. Early on, I 'broadened my criteria' and went out with an American guy I would never have even briefly considered if I'd been back home. I guess I was bored, and we soon went our seperate ways. I later heard he married a k girl, and I was very happy to hear it as I thought he was a lost soul who really needed someone to love him. I hope it works for him.

Despite not meeting any whiteys that bowled me over, I have met some great men to chat and have a beer with, and I've not cared a tuppence if they had a k gf or k wife. It wasn't until I started reading Dave's that I realised just how much I was supposed to be fretting about it. Really! There are some really cool western men on this forum, JongoGuru and Wangja come first to mind, but there are a host of others. And guess what, I really wouldn't be surprised if, living in Korea, they were partnered up with k girls, and I wouldn't give a bloody shyte. It's not my concern and it's not very interesting.

Yes.

Yes.

i pretty much agree too....

and here's a heads up for the guys and girls....those chicks that DO in fact glare at you or your pretty girlfriend are the same types of girls that do the same exact thing in their original country. bitterness and jealousy are not exclusive to korea.

...the other day i was with my bf and i just about got skinned alive via the glare of some fat white chick...but ive had plenty of korean girls give me very dirty looks as well.

SOME CHICKS ARE CATTY WORLD-WIDE

A man is a wolf to a man - Homo homini lupus. Unfortunately this old proverb might be even more true with women. It can be easily seen that the worst enemy of a woman is another woman. Well, at least for those insecure women I don't find attractive at all. Hey, a woman has to have some b*lls! (Not to be taken li-te-ral-ly! Wink )
