People say that but it always seems to take 1/2 an hour to an hour to walk anywhere (usually up a hill). |

Hadlee was only made to look good because the rest around him were shit. I could name a world eleven of his contemporaries that he wouldn't even get a look in. |

You must be indeed a cricket judge of the highest order - Wisden must have been wrong then: "Wisden Cricketer of the Year 1982". Perhaps you should write and tell them |

Yeah, Studio 9 had its moments. Sandwiches is sort of evil. The dance floor is compeletly blocked off from natural light, meaning you can stagar out for a smoke and suddenly find its not night anymore (...filthy herbals ).
Born in Auckland grew up in Nelson, Uni-ed in Wellington. Good luck with the move Maoriboy. |

Oh come on, who was around him at the time, bowling wise? There was a reason he claimed such a disproportionate share of wickets. Simply put, he was a decent bowler in a team of otherwise unremarkables. It'd be like us elevating Craig McDermott or Merv Hughes to such a level. |

As a native English speaker, I can only fathom about ~30% of what's been written in this thread.
How the hell do Korean kids deal with it? |

Well, he bettered Dennis Lillee in every test statistic. If you want to keep insisiting that Hadlee is merely average, go ahead |

Yeah, when I was in Welly, 90's, it was Studio 9 was the happening place for house. Now I have no idea... |

Are you intentionally dense, or just unable to follow a line of thinking other than something so mind numbingly simple it hurts. Look who Lillee played alongside, Hadlee took so many wickets in that team due to the fact he was the only decent bowler you guys had. A bit like the way Murali stands out for Sri Lanka (he is world class though, despite being a chucker). |

I understand your reasoning, and it's all wrong. You get wickets by bowling the batsman out. It's got nothing to do with the other bowlers. If you're not good enough to bowl the batsman out, you don't bowl him out. It's that simple. It doesn't matter if the rest of your bowlers are Mickey Mouse and Daffy Duck. You have to have the skills to bowl the batsmen out, and Hadders was bowling to some of the greats of the game. Get a new theory. You can't pull Hadders down... |

Your argument doesn't make any sense. Hadleee is crap, but slightly better than the other crap bowlers for New Zealand, therefore he became one of the best bowlers the world has ever seen? That line of reasoning is so retarded I thought you were joking... |

Satori,
do you know any of the Krazy lounge crew ?
By the way I was there, at the MCG, for the underarm. The Aussie crowd were just as upset as the kiwi's now are.
Dennis was quick, but Richard had awesome control...
I could use a Black Mac about now. |
