Is the following specific enough for you:

I see no reason to spell it out. You are a college graduate (presumably).

It was a serious question. He and Steve insult me, and many others, regularly with no epithets whatsoever. My sig is EXACTLY what I am talking about. You accept that, and upbraid me for such a disgusting remark stated by someone else?

Let me spell it out:
Personal attacks are going to be left back in Junior High where they came from. Who started it and who said what to whom in the past are not within my control. I can't change the past.
I CAN have a say about what is posted in the future because I have the delete function and you don't. 
Let the past be the past and start a new day. Carry on with your debate and disagree all you want. Type in any insult you want, but before you hit 'Submit', back off and delete it yourself. |

Do not focus so tightly on theoretical models and terms like "neoconservative," Gang ah jee. Useful tools, no more, no less. Not absolute categories, not mutually-exclusive, either. I think that your discipline leads you to think this way. But many see historical processes as unique and unpredictable -- and no theory could possibly explain all variables and their complex interactions.
That being said, most who predominantly think like realists, like me, do not recognize the W. Bush Administration's methodology and oppose its actions generally as misguided and destructive.
Have you heard what realists like Kissinger and Brzezinski have been saying? How about the armed forces through various retired generals? And what do you think the Baker Report and its message was all about, by the way...?

 Didn't I just say something to this effect the other day? I was only curious about your opinion on this because inject the terms of IR theory into many, if not most, discussions here. You seem very eager to identify yourself as a 'realist' and blast the naive excesses of the 'Wilsonian Idealists' at every given opportunity, no?
And 'my discipline'? Heh. If you'd like to discuss the applications of Vygotskyan psychology to language learning, or the state of research into instructed pragmatics acquisition, or the validity of the construct of spoken language used in TOEFL, etc, then 'my discipline' will be relevant. Otherwise, I'll keep on writing as a layman, thanks.

Yes, I'm aware of the disconnect between realism and the neocons - I hear even Rice is returning to her 'realist roots'. But was wondering if this distancing has more to do with the failure of the policies rather than objections to the philosophical assumptions underpinning neoconservatism.
edit: just found Kenneth Anderson's blog. Answers a lot of questions I have about this stuff.
