I can't believe how long this thread has gone on. One good thing though. Five more posts and the number will be 666. That's gotta spook stupidinscarlet. Let's get to 666 then stop. There's really nothing else to say to Christian ignorance, stupidness and superstition. Let them waste their lives if they so wish. |

You haven't dealt with the last one. Can you define what the theory of evolution is as believed by modern science?
Bring it to the evolution thread |

evolution: the (supposed) process by which life passes by degrees from one stage to another.
Some good writing about evolution and God:
http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a37d00a8465b5.htm
I can't make you believe in God, creation, Jesus, the Bible, the Holy Spirit, or eternal judgment. I can only give witness to God and what He has done in my life. You are free to believe in what you want. I choose to believe in God because He convicted me of sin and revealed Himself to me years ago. I have found Him to be true, real, and wonderful. So have millions of others. I share the good news (the gospel) because it is good news. It is in fact great news.
If you want to be an atheist, that is your decision. If you want to believe in evolution, go ahead. If your desire is to hold to the big bang theory, it's your life. I choose God. Call me stupid if you want. I don't care.
The number 666 has no meaning if you don't believe in God or the Bible. Numbers have great significance if you do believe in God because they are used prophetically all throughout the Bible. Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers are filled with prophetic numerical symbolism. But those are pearls discovered and treasured by Christians, not non-Christians. As for 666 occurring on this thread, I don't believe it holds any significance.
I love to travel. I love learning new cultures and discovering the world. But after I got saved I found a new destination that I love to go to often. It is the heart of God. You get there by worship. Jesus bought every single person on this earth a ticket to get there, but many don't use it or they throw it away. This travel destination (God's heart) is inviting, warm, beautiful, and Sonny. You will indeed find rest there. You will never be hungry or thirsty there. And you will finally be truly happy there. It is my choice vacation spot. This guy goes there often as well...

If all you atheists and sinners would just quit responding, they might run out of steam. Every time you respond, you give them a reason to testify and go and on about it. That's how 45 pagers are made.
If you really wanted them to stop and see this thread die, all you'd have to do is ignore them.
It's not rocket science ya know.

According to the dictionary, the word 자식 means "offspring,"
but Koreans tell me that it is a naughty word meaning the same thing as SOB.
It may be significant that the word appears as #666 in the Yonsei University word frequency chart.
Philipjames, how do you count posts on a thread?
Do the post numbers appear on your screen?
I can't find any post numbers on my screen. |

It only shows up on the forum directory that lists all the threads, not inside the thread itself. This is post number 670. Yours was 669. |

Butterfly shows evolution at work
Scientists say they have seen one of the fastest evolutionary changes ever observed in a species of butterfly.
The tropical Blue Moon butterfly has developed a way of fighting back against parasitic bacteria.
Six years ago, males accounted for just 1% of the Blue Moon population on two islands in the South Pacific.
But by last year, the butterflies had developed a gene to keep the bacteria in check and male numbers were up to about 40% of the population.
Scientists believe the comeback is due to "suppressor" genes that control the Wolbachia bacteria that is passed down from the mother and kills the male embryos before they hatch.
"To my knowledge, this is the fastest evolutionary change that has ever been observed," said Sylvain Charlat, of University College London, whose study appears in the journal Science.

It does if you're a fundamentalist. Science tells us the world is a whole lot older than 6000 years old. If you view as a bunch of nice concepts and myths with some good messages about how to live a good life then yeah, evolution doesn't contradict that kind of christianity. |
