The standings after three rounds...I did this on the fly, no time to check it right now--I think it's right though.

Blurgalurgalurga: 41. Round Four: Wings in 7. Total goals: 34.
Free World: 35
D.D.: 32
RocknRoll: 31
Force One: 30
Ernie: 28
Robot: 28
Crack Baby: 27.
Knucklehead: 25.
Dr.Kalbi: 24
Guri Guy: 24
J.Valmer: 24
Crusher o' Heads: 22
Dr. Love: 18.
Agent X:9.
VanIslander: 9.
The Boy Next Door: 6.

So, while first place is a sealed deal (if my math is correct), remember that second AND third place are still worth fighting for, as there are Beer Prizes and the Invaluable Bragging Rights to be won.

Get your picks in for Round Four, folks...

The Pittsburgh Penguins versus the Detroit Red Wings.

Go Wings!

Oh--I guess we need a tie breaker. What did we do last year? Hmmm...I guess "Total Number of Goals Scored in the Final by BOTH TEAMS."
So, the scoring: if you get the correct team, 3 points.
If you get the correct number of games, an additional point.
If there is a tie, the player who picks the closest to the total number of goals wins.

Sound fair? Criticisms and suggestions will be heard graciously, and perhaps, acted upon.

let's hope the cup final is more like round 2 and less like round 3. some close games but 4-0 and 4-1 is pretty disappointing. i think this is going to be a high scoring final. detroit is a powerhouse team but i think pittsburgh's stars are on fire and they want it more. if osgoode (continues to) stand on his head, the wings will take it. MVP honors to ossie or crossie.

pittsburgh in 7. total goals: 42

edit: my original goal total was too high, and nobody posted since, so i changed it.

Ya I keep thinking how funny that commercial would be if they make him do it again next year. It would be reallly funny if they lose like 5 cups in a row and he does the commercial every year.

Looks like Freeworld got second and DD got third...I'll do the final numbers later this evening to confirm.
Congratulations, boys! You win beer, as promised.

If you guys want to meet next Friday or Saturday for your prize beers, I'll be in the city. I'm thinking Wolf-hound, in the early evening on Saturday, is best for me. Friday is fine too.

Of course, anybody else who wants to come is more than welcome, but you'll have to buy your own beers. Be good to put some faces to names!

Good series, eh? I don't like Pittsburgh much but it seems they were the better team, in the final measure.
