Nice summary, Broken76......I agree.

But now the debate is if one needs to rent an apartment with a dedicated computer room in mind. Or just squeeze it in wherever.

For us married guys, the living room may be off limits.

Especially if you have one of those ultra big screens that some on here were going on about.

My desktop takes up quite a bit of room once you factor it all in.

May I suggest, in lieu of a dedicated room to appease your wife, a set of balls?

Razz

But seriously, my comp is in the living room, and I don't care what anyone says. It is my work, communication, movies, tv and games, without which I would be pretty much cut off from the unfiltered world.

Yea try that one on when you've got kids. Let me know how it goes.

Me too, and I had a desktop set up in the lounge as well once. But I much prefer a seperate room. And the problems I had with my boy scratching the screen, and loud TV and what have you.

Of course a laptop could be destroyed by kids a lot more easily. One good thing about my desktop is that my 10,000 keyboard had about 2 full cups of coffee worth spilt on it over the years along with cookies, milk and so on and is still going fine. A laptop would have expired long ago.

I was just giving you a hard time.

Sure, 2 youngsters romping around is certain to be trouble. My kids are older and way past that stage. We have 5 computers total in my house, 3 of them desktops, so yeah, in a perfect world, a dedicated room or three would be great.
