That is such a good idea! I remember...when I was in the 4th graade my best friend at the time had her hair crimped and I was so jealous! |

She is far mroe diplomatic than I would be soryr that ratty husker du t shirt is going up in flames |
Dammit, if you're going to do anything to that shirt, give it a proper burial! They were a kick-ass band and besides, do you know how hard it is to find a friggin Husker Du T-shirt these days?! |

Wonderfully put.
And some men have more style than many women, especially the let-it-all-go image of many Western women in Korea. |

I would normally let the flamebait go... but last time I checked not all western men in Korea are prefectly clothed, shaved or even washed. And there are plenty of man breasts and beer bellies out there too. Quiet frankly you fat guys are letting the team down too.

| I'd say a majority of westerners here look sloppy when walking around outside. |

"Majority" might be taking things a little far. They certainly wouldn't be a rarity, myself often included. |

sloppy is a person's opinion...i wear baggy clothes...i don't consider it sloppy looking, but some of the older generation say that it is.
i've noticed quite a few ahjushee's and ahjumma's walking down the street in shorts, white t-shirt, white socks, and black generic sandals...not exactly high class....this is usually at night, but either way.

majority, meaning more than half, yes. I see people in t-shirts and shorts at important cultural events. I see women wearing hardly anything on top on the subway. What is the word we hear on AFN? Practice good OBSECs. something about respecting the customs of the country we are in. |

Unless you have changed ALOT from the last time your pic was on the net, I will say this, and it goes for alot of you here:
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. |

Who are you talking to? There may be some fat guys around here but there are also some fit, well-shaven, well-dressed guys, as I stated before: some. It wasn't a flame-bait generalization in a battle of the sexes. There is no team
I wasn't going to sit quietly while people post about how the women have something to teach the men about fashion and style when I see so many loosy-goosy foreign women on the streets.
That said, I don't mind if you dress casual and let yourself go. Why not? Koreans are like Californians with their hangups. Looks aren't everything. As long as you are comfortable with how you are, and healthy enough by your standards, then "Who cares?" |

I agree that are stylie men out there, that dress far better than myself or the vast majority of women outside of korea. Personally I think that the western women here dress a lot better than back home, but then again I'm fresh out of varsity and having disposible income makes getting scrubbed up a lot easier. |

Gotta say, little dissapointed. I didn't expect you to buy into the stereotypes. I think people here dress much the same as people of a similar age in their home countries.
There are exceptions of course. Everyone knows someone who's been here forever and is still wearing trends from 1997 ( eek!) |
