Every thread? no. The thread you are posting in? Yeah give us some names. If you are going to try to end the discussion by calling anyone speaking against racism in Korea a hypocritical, bigoted, biased, racist, then I think you should back it up. That isn't something you just throw around non chalantly. So tell us who you are talking about here, in this specific thread. I think you owe that to the people you have accused of being racist. |
I didn't say anyone, I said some posters.
If you want an example, here now on the Nashville's Thread, user RalphWinfield

Some of my worst and best memories of Korea are from Nashille's! The owner was quick to remember me years after I met him. Good tunes were found on his jukebox! The burgers were alright as wll, and it was too bad the racist crap that was done to him when his business was closed for about 6 weeks for having some cinnamon he bought in the U.S.. That was sort of big news at that time. It was the epitome of a Kimberley pulling a notorious Korea Sparkling move on a white guy. |
Complaining about racism while using an obviously demeaning slur to refer to Koreans.
And no one really objecting to that. Now can you imagine if I had used some derogatory term to refer to caucasian NETs? |
Well thanks for that info on the Nashville's thread, but why don't you go post it on the Nashville's thread because obviously that isn't the discussion here. I'm talking about this thread. You are accusing me and other posters that have brought up an instance of racism in Korea by Koreans of being racist against Koreans in THIS THREAD and I want to know who you are talking about. Tell me why your comments belong on this thread and who you are talking about. The way you bring up a poster from another thread, and post from another thread just makes you sound less credible here. I want to believe you have good intentions, but you seem to label all of us as racist bigots as soon as we point out a situation where racism occurred in Korea. So back it up please, tell me why this accusation has a place in this particular thread. |

I agree! The guy trashes far too many threads and topics. He has pretty much become the thorn-in-the-side of the site. I sometimes ask myself why I even visit here. |

No, I have not accused you, hiamnotcool, of being racist against Koreans IN THIS THREAD. I have remarked on the tendency of SOME posters to get apoplectic over Korean racism but turn a deaf ear to racism against Koreans either back home or on this board.
Basically, I am trying to encourage people to show the same vigilance against racism against Koreans on this board or back home that they seem to take such a hard-nosed stance on in. |

Nothing wrong with that. But in your zeal to find an example of racism against Koreans you completely fabricated one, and accused someone else's comments of being racist when they weren't. You don't see anything wrong with that? |

Are you serious? Kimberley is a slang term that has nothing to do with Koreans. |

A) Kimberley doesn't refer to Koreans
B) Kimberley is not a derogatory term

I'm guessing that he had no idea about that, yet he typed out a response as if he knew exactly ("obviously demeaning referring to Ks") what it meant. Weird. |

I don't have a problem with a lot of the stuff he says (a lot - not all), but someone who goes out of their way to find malice where none exists is nothing but paranoid or a cynic.
He would probably get offended if a non-Asian ordered yellowtail at a sushi bar Rolling Eyes |
The way its been used on this site and others in the past, it is. Similar to Klowns, and not the Krusty variety.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought Kimberley was previously used on these forums to demean and emasculate Korean men. |
Yup, apparently it had to be stomped out by the mods. In fact, there was a recent post about it somewhere. I think someone saw that and decided to resurrect the term.

Where did I fabricate it and accuse someone of being racist when they weren't? There's already been another poster who verified the whole 'Kimberly' thing.
Here's a couple old threads with 'Kimberly'-

Wow! Did you really just dig up a couple of 5 year old threads to make this point? How many of the people that posted in those threads are still active on this board? Weird. |

Ok, then tell me who those posters are in this thread. Not posters in another thread, but in this thread. Quit trying to change the discussion to the use of the term "Kimberly" and address the issue that was the topic of the thread. I am asking you to do this so I can believe you are actually trying to contribute to the site instead of just distracting people. I also don't want to believe that you have no problem haphazardly labeling people racists and bigots. It's very out of line for you to just show up in any thread and start calling the posters racists and bigots, if you are going to make that accusation, then tell us which posters you are talking about and provide the evidence.
So give me that names and show me where they posted in this thread. |

sr derailing another thread?
You'd think the railroad would have pulled his license by now. I guess they're asleep at the switch. |
