Interesting quiz. My score is 27 out of 50. If I've learned one thing today it's that the tenth commandment is actually...

...10) Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

Have the decency not to boil your goat in milk from its own mother. Laughing

I take great comfort from the fact that my faith, not my religion, my faith in my love for Jesus, and his love for me is strong. Further, I accept that my faith is a simple faith not clouded by the many false intpretations of man. I tend to dispense with much of the bible as propganda. To me the bible is a book filled with many examples of how not to live, and few good guidelines to live in peace and harmony with each other.

The one and indisputable message that resounds to me down through the ages is the sweet simplicity of the 10 commandments. The rest is mere horseshit designed to lead man astray from his true purpose of living a good honest life in which we give of ourself free so that all those around us may share in each other's love.

The whole idea that god is responsible for the actions of crazed lunatics, serial killers, and other assorted riff raff is is bogus. We make the choices to do evil unto our brothers and sisters. Free will is the choice given to us to excercise the right to be evil or the right to do good in the world. Why do we insist as humans as giving away the responsibility for our actions to a divine power?

We ask again and again HOW could we have let these terrible things happen? Yet how often do we say, "A terrible thing has happened, and I took action to make right on that evil. I did what was needed to ensure that the evil that has transpired will not happen again. " The last time I believe that occured was called World War 2.

In short stop flapping your gums about it, and live the simple word of god. The word calling for love and respect for all of us.

Theologians, please explain the story of Job to this poor cat. Is it what is seems in that God is making a bet with Satan to see how miserable he can make someone without them giving up? That seems pretty f'd up

Hey, I'd never want to be Job either. Losing family, friends, money, health, etc. If you read it, it's actually God saying "Hey, look at my man Job! He has great faith - not a spot on him" and Satan says "let me prove you wrong" and God gives permission to let all those bad things happen. Then at the end God meets face to face with Job and gives him back everything he lost and more. Not an easy book to read though.

BTW, I'm no Theologian, I just read my Bible and ask questions to others too.

The word calling to repent of your sins and follow the saviour, in order to recieve eternal life. Read John.
