I'm new to Korea and I'm 24. Been here 6 weeks and don't know that many people. Thus I'm up for anything! Inform me of the venue and i'll be there1 |

All right then, I'll have to break out my platform shoes and sequin shirt for some disco... just kiddin'. I'll play nice and bring my Country or Western outfit, as suits the situation.
(We like orgies too though. Hip, mind, in our day. I was joking about the tats.) I'm more a talker than a sch-winger. |

Sounds like fun, I'm in! The old Yellow Bar ones were lots of fun! Met some great people. No free therapy!! Jameson on ice will be the password.
I like the idea of Hongdae. Especially those outdoor cafe bars near the uni. Great for the non-smokers. Helps us cigar smokers as well?
BTW, I'm 43, married with a dog. (BTW, no couple's counseling~ take it outside the bar!)
Looking forward to a fun evening. |

Hyong-dae would be good. I'd be up to it if I haven't decided to check out of the planet for good.
Come to think of it is questionable whether I may already have and just don't know it. Maybe that's why I see dead people everywhere.
I just thought of a very odd idea. Tiger Beer would know more about this place than moi, although I could probably just teleport my self there. The bar area around Osan Air-Force base. I've never been there.
OH OH! Bad omens, at this moment the rubes turn out the lights in the game room.
Exactly what the pilot did just before the airplane skidded off the runway and broke in half (a little anecdote that should be archived in the "carefree" visa run section.)
Okay Hyongdae sounds good to me! |

gajackson1 organized one there once.. and only about 15 people showed up. Ryst Helmet as well tried to set up one there just somewhat recently (around Christmas time).. but didn't really seem to get off the ground either.
I've also went to Daegu one (just didn't have the same oommf) - maybe 15 people total?.. and I knew there were two in Cheonnan which attracted maybe 15 people or so?
For some strange reason.. whenever they were held in HongDae (a good 7-8 I believe).. they were always just monster bashes and a great time. Usually had well over 60+ people at everyone of them who'd pass through the doors and hangout at least for awhile or all night. Possibly even much higher, it was so difficult to guage a 'people' count.. but you wouldn't come close to meeting half of all the people who went.
I guess the beauty of HongDae is you can just 'stop in' at anytime and 'get out' anytime as well.. or you can have a backup plan to meet up with other friends you know who are probably partying elsewhere in the area. Don't know what it is, but something is magical about the HongDaea area for Daves gatherings. |

Merlot I am far older than dirt ( I carry a box full of it from my native land to put my coffin in while I sleep during the daytime. )
I'm sure you would be more than welcome.
I will have much to report when I return to my planet. |

Ok, steam is going down a bit on this post, so let's get real: someone needs to step up and find a place.
"Why not you, smart guy?" you say. Three reasons:
1. I speak almost no Korean
2. I know of few to no places to have this thing
3. I live far away from any and every location that's been tossed around here as a possibility.
I would like to say that I think Hongdae would be the best spot. There are some open air bars and the like, which (as has already been mentioned) gives us some very good options in terms of having a laid-back atmosphere early on that can then turn into a Matrix 2-style Zion rave later in the day when all them kids show up.
Is it going to be a good bit of work? Yes.
Is there a chance that not many people will show up? Yes.
However, there's also a chance that those of us who do show up (no matter how many of us) will be very grateful to he who steps up to the plate now, rather than later when lots of people are going to have other plans for their free day.
(and, yes, there might be some free cigars involved for said person as well) |

Though I rarely ever leave the little bubble of sanity in Korea which is my town, I will come if it's the 13th. Doing Busan on children's day long weekend. |

A comma could save you some grief should the wife read that.

Is this confirmed? The 13th at a "to be announced" location in Hongdae? |
