Now there's an idea...everyone pm me your passwords. j/k
Yes, Dave probably can see them, but he's pretty busy all time. |
Oh ya, I didn't mean for him to get involved. Just if it is shown to be really bad or a threat, something can be done |

Christ, 6 pages of stuff about something that is between Spinoza and Hack. Hack, why ask us, why not ask Spinoza (the sender) why he did it? I have to assume that you just want us all wound up and ready to lynch.
This was interesting though, I never knew that Heavy Metal relied on satire. I learned something today, cool. |

I don't see how laogaiguk's suggestion is a bad one. Since hack can change his password once a mod has seen the PM, it shouldn't be a problem and might get this situation resolved sooner.
If hack is serious about this complaint (i.e. he isn't a troll), then he shouldn't have any probs with this I think. I wouldn't, given the situation. |

Fine if you don't want to play, but for the love of Nehru, don't ruin it for the rest of us!!! |

It's a game for flotsam. It may or may not be for the OP. This remains to be seen. |

Well, maybe not a game, but there is certainly an air of mystery and expectation in it all.
We just have to wait for Spin to recover from his latest hangover before we find out the truth.
(We've had to wait for this plot to get going almost as long as it is taking Season 3 of Lost to.) |

You've got the narrator's voice! Nice.
Maybe this is like a War of the Worlds thing. |

Back to the OP. What does it mean? Playing the devil's advocate here let's look at the possibility that it wasn't intended as taken. Spinoza is (as I understand) from Northern England. As far as I am aware, there is not much of a Jewish community in the North, and it's likely that Spin has little cultural awareness of Jewish people (unlike say an American from New York) and might not have understood that his PM could be construed in the light it was. He may have been genuinely curious to know what you thought of the lyrics. It may have been some kind of playful banter (plastic this and that sounds like friendly 'bloke talk' to me). - In other words he could just be naive and insensitive. On the other hand....he may be a swastika flying card carrying member of the BNP!
As for the interpretation of the lyrics, I'd put my money on Uberscheisse's. Of course that's not to say they couldn't be wrongly interpreted, or used for making mischeif. |

| To the OP- I can definitely understand how receiving a PM like that would be upsetting to you, and I see why you probably started the thread. But as the whole thing went on, I could picture you while you were writing some of your responses- with veins about to pop in your forehead, so angry and offended. I'm not saying you shouldn't be, but by displaying it on here-aren't you giving that Spinoza person exactly what he probably wanted? |

Thing is, Hack gets just as worked up about people eating dog meat. He is a massive drama queen (on this site atleast). This PM deserves a strong response, but the fact that Hack sees the two as pretty much the same (from his reactions) again goes to show he is missing something some of us smarter ones have. |

Maybe a mod could look at his account, but hack choose to post the pm, which I personally think is in bad taste. I'm not putting him down for it, just saying it could have been handled diffrently.
If I posted a thread on the forums saying that flotsam sent me an insulting message stating that I'm a jerk, then maybe I'm looking for a bigger fight (sorry to use you as an example flotsam).

I sure hope so. Alien tripods would jazz this drama up a bit. Make it real class.
Maybe Spin is part of the Alien vanguard. |
