So I can blame God for high taxes, education cuts, health cuts and the war in Iraq. If God created government why do you hate it so much?

Care to support that opinion?

God instituted government and in fact the United States government structure finds its foundation in the Bible.

I don't know if you say some of the things you do just to rile people and provoke, or if you actually mean them. If the latter, you're a total Idiot.

As for your god created government... considering primitive forms of government predate biblical creation, I think it's safe to say you're wrong.

It's because of people like you that Americans are losing their liberty. You don't know your Constitution or it's history do you? Want me to educate you're smug 'freethought' little mind?

Nothing predates 'biblical creation' that's why it's called biblical creation.

Using your own beliefs, God predates creation. Moron!

You know, I was going to write a big long tirade about the Bible and evolution and historyt and science but then I remembered thats another thread. SO i will say this:

Meegook (and others who think like you) you can scream and hollar and cry all you want but there is nothing that you can do to change it. In my country, Canada, Gays have equal rights and are allowed to get married. So there.

The most important thing is that Gays predate the Bible and you and your government. We survived all forms of persecution, even the holocaust. So you can scream all you want but we are not going anywhere and we will have our parades and we will get married. I hope that you have children and one of them turns out to be gay, then maybe you will pull your head out of your butt.

God loves everyone, she loves everything, even you meegook, although she probably thinks your a dope.

And then we have the great men of history....

"History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline.......or a progressive deterioration to ultimate national disaster"

General Douglas MacArthur

"The fundamental basis of this nation's law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teaching we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don't think we emphasize that enough these days. If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in the right for anybody except the state."

President Harry S. Truman.

"The only assurance of our nation's safety is to lay our foundation in morality and religion."

Abraham Lincoln.

"The Bible is the Rock on which this Republic rests."

President Andrew Jackson

Time for the standard "Meegook is in over his depth so is falling back on argument from authority" phase of the thread.

Go back to school, Meegook.

"The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were.... the general principles of Christianity."

President John Quincy Adams

"Human law must rest its authority ultimately upon the authority of that law which is divine....Far from being rivals or enemies, religion and law are twin sisters, friends, and mutual assistants. Indeed, these two sciences run into each other."

James Wilson, a signer of the Constitution and an original Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court

"The highest story of the American Revolution is this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity."

President John Adams

"Question with boldness even the existence of God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear." - Thomas Jefferson

"Religions are all alike - founded upon fables and mythologies." - Thomas Jefferson

"History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government." - Thomas Jefferson

"In no instance have . . . the churches been guardians of the liberties of the people." - James Madison

" The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity." - John Adams

"Lighthouses are more helpful than churches." - Benjamin Franklin

"...the number, the industry, and the morality of the priesthood, and the devotion of the people, have been manifestly increased by the total separation of the church from the State - James Madison

"Every new and successful example, therefore, of a perfect separation between the ecclesiastical and civil matters, is of importance; and I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in showing that religion and Government will both exist in greater purity the less they are mixed together" - James Madison

"Leave the matter of religion to the family altar, the church, and the private schools, supported entirely by private contributions. Keep the church and the state forever separated." - Ulysses S. Grant

And the great men of history say this:

Taken from Isaiah 33:22, God is our King, God is our lawgiver, God is our Judge- the founders gave us the very formation of our government thus the Executive, the Legislative and Judicial branches. Historians are now beginning to realize that the Bible is the basis for our American system of Jurisprudence and Constitution.

Patrick Henry: It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
