| So if I buy an iMac in Korea, it's set for Region 3 DVDs, does that mean I can only watch 5 of my US DVDs on it before it locks on me? |

You can change the region code 5 times. If it's set for Korea now and you go to watch a DVD from the U.S. then that counts as one. Next time you put in a Korean DVD that will switch it back to 3, that's our second, etc. etc.
Download VLC and go in to your system preferences. Set it to open VLC to play your DVD's and that should bypass the region code so you can swap out as many times as you want. I never did it while I was there, but a friend of mine did it on her Mac and said it worked fine.

The pirated DVD's you buy on the street in Korea are usually region-free.
VLC crashes a lot for me, but I think I have an old version. |
