Basically no, they never would. You can hyperbolize "NEVER" in capital letters all you want, but the point remains that it hasn't happened in Japan, mainly because they don't care all that much about Korea, and it would obviously be unacceptable anyway. If you have recent evidence to the contrary, of Japanese children being made to draw racist pictures and having them posted in a subway station (or something similar), then kindly show us. Otherwise, you've got nothing. |
As doggiji pointed out in his example of 2CH, that kind of thing does go on in Japan. You are claiming it NEVER happened anywhere in Japan, ever. |

You got nothing.
I never said it never goes on in Japan. I know Japan isn't perfect and that there are racists there. There are racists everywhere. However in Japan there are many different points of view. They also have a media that is quite favourable to Korea considering the large numbers of Koreans living there.
Poisoning little children's minds however is reprehensible. Adults at least should have the capacity to judge right or wrong. That is the crux of the issue. Korea wants to keep the hate fires burning by instilling it in the minds of their youth.  |

Judging by the links posted above, Japan is just as busy at poisoning little children's minds with those kind of comics. And what about the adults that manafacture those comics? Indeed they should have the capacity to judge right or wrong.
There are racists in Korea as there are in Japan. Now if you want to argue that there are more or it's worse, then provide stats. The fact that those comics and books are quite popular in Japan speak volumes. |

Likewise I heard the same of k-netizens not only on Korean forums but in other non-politically related forums when the subject of Japan/Korea comes up. The Koreans come in droves quite often in guises that they were local people until someone shows them up asking "where do you come from?"...."America!"...."no really"....."ah...Korea". |
Likewise, I have seen some Japanese otakus impersonating Koreans and saying stupid things on international boards to make Koreans look bad. A long time ago, I posted about one specific example on another expat board. And I don't even wanna start about youtube trolls.

True. Bear in mind also that some are naturalised Japanese or mix of Japanese and Koreans. It can become very sensitive. I know they personally wish the entire thing dies down. |
While I don't have any concrete statistical sense about this, I can see that there are a huge number of Japanese who couldn't care less about politics while extremities are trying hard to agitate people. I have an impression that a sizable portion of unemployed guys who spend lots of time on the internet tend to become the so-called net uyoku to feel better about themselves in a way. I'm not trying to talk bad about general Japanese population here.

You say it is a perfect place to vent for Japanese. It might be. Are you trying to rationalize it that way? What would you say about Korean netizens on Naver then? Would you use a different caliber to Koreans probably? As a general rule, I do see people in small internet communities sharing similar interests or special knowledge tend to be very friendly and well-mannered to each other, while big completely anonymous general message boards with no sense of community draw lots of weirdos and fishermen/trolls who are just ready to go berserk. It seems to me that this is just same for Korea and Japan. |
