Why just 99%? Who exactly is this slim minority, the 1% that you WON'T have sex with? I find it baffling that you would say 99% and leave it at that. if you are going to say 99%, why not jsut go all the way and say 100%, or is it really important for you to make that distinction that there is a sliver of the world dating population that you will not have sex with.

And sex is undoubtably going to be a part or 99% of long-term relationships. |
Jaebea had it right. The percentage had nothing to do with me personally. I just ran a percentage to illuminate my belief that 'almost all' relationships involve sex. I didn't mean to even literally suggest that 99% is the correct number.
I've heard stories about older couples who haven't had sex in years so it's possible that the correct figure is much less than 99%, or 80%, or even 65%, I can't really guess.
Although I know that 100% of my 'relationships' have involved sex. That's because sex is the crucial one-way criteria. If we're not having sex you're not my girlfriend (and obviously not my wife). But just because we're having sex doesn't mean we're in a relationship either...
And Christians are currently a big unknown for me. I don't know what they do or don't do in their marriages. I do know from past experience though that many of the young unmarried Christian ladies who said they were 'saving' themselves for their future husband put out plenty...the best example being one girl who was laughingly telling a story in mixed company about how she was (a) a total tramp before marrying her husband, (b) as big as a house, and (c) told him she was a virgin when they married.
Her punchline was that (d) her husband believed he was slipping into the tightiest virgin in the whole world because he actually was one and wouldn't know the difference. And she thought that was just hilarious.
Strange sense of humor some of them there Christians have...
