Whatever, dances with wolves. Closest you or anyone on this board gets to man's timeless traditions and dominion over nature is watching lions hunt gazelles on the discovery channel. Unless they go hunting with their propane stoves and coolers full of beer a few times durring hunting season, of course. We aren't hunter gatherers, we're capitalists- analyse the seal hunt and the information you hear about it as if you are being informed by people with a capitalist agenda.

Just FYI... my family hunts every year. Anyone who's legal applies for a doe-tag and we all go out and try to get a deer. Now... since we live in a rural area it's nice to have a freezer full of venison when the snow flies and leaves you sitting under 3 feet of snow until the plow comes through.

Yes, I'm aware that this is a thread about seal hunting but I felt I should share.

I think if you read my comment a little more closely you'll see I covered that. You might also note i misspelled "during". Venison is not your staple, neither are berries and tubers your mother collects while breastfeeding your five year old brothers and sisters. Do not feed me your lies, you shop at sobeys like everyone else. Unless you are unpatriotic swine and shop at superstore (even though they have a much better connection with local organic producers than sobeys).

Yes I (and firefox) noticed your misspelling and I chose to ignore it. No, deer is not my staple food and I wasn't lying about anything. I'm 100% sure that there have been times where the plow didn't go through Walden Nova Scotia for like 3 days thus a trip to any sort of supermarket was out of the question since it was hard enough to get out of the driver way to work. Then again we'd generally stock the freezer up with other various frozen goods as well before the storm.

When we go hunting it's just the hunter and the firearm. Why you'd take a cooler full of ANYTHING is beyond me. Especially anything alcoholic. But maybe I'm just one of those weird hunters that doesn't want to accidentally shoot something/ one he doesn't intend to eat.

I see that you did cover going deer hunting and I applaud you for that. Good joreb hamstray.
