Went to the Apple shop in Yongsan today. They said they stopped taking reservations yesterday. He also said they'll be sold through KT stores, not Apple stores, so I'm not sure how the two operations are connected (Apple store reservations and KT sales).

Apple shop probably stopped taking reservations because they can't figure out how to deliver the iPhone.

I don't think the Apple store has the ability to setup a KT account, and activate the phone.

Figure out which data plan you need:

http://www.maclife.com/article/feature/iphone_app_data_hogs

Shows you how much bandwidth some popular apps take up. Pictures and video are huge bandwidth hogs. Google Maps seems to take up a lot too. I've been reading around and it seems heavy users use around 500mb per month.

Personally, I'm going to get the 1gb plan. That should be enough so that I never have to worry whether or not I've gone over my usage.

DON'T PRE-ORDER!!!!

Kt will be setting up price plans according to demand. The more you 'demand' up front, the more it's gonna kick you in the ass!

Do have a link to a website (in English or Korean) that shows KT's pricing plans? Not for smartphones and data plans, but for the iphone specifically?

don't be deceived by the 35k, 45k, 65k, 95k prices. basically on the price plans u have to look at the bold yellow highlighted prices that includes monthly data/voice plan/phone cost/tax (10%)

so actual prices paid per month will be

16Gb 56,650 61,600 77,550 104,500
32Gb 62,700 67,650 83,600 110,550

im curious about the korean text regarding wifi...just to clarify public wifi is available? whats the difference between public and nespot wifi besides kt providing the latter? im guessing performance

reading about nespot wifi seems to indicate its a service that needs to be paid for so getting this free seems like a sweet deal. fingers crossed on if skype for iphone is available here. that would be the dogs bollocks on the cake.

Nespot access for the itouch is currently only 3300 won/month for unlimited use - so although it's thrown in, it's not that much of a savings (but at least they're including it as part of the 45,000+ plans).

Skype is already available through the Korean itunes store (as well as the U.S. and Canadian stores, if you already have an account with them) - for free.

I tried to do it too, it even took my reservation payment of 30,000 won, but when I tried to complete it, it asked me for my ARC number...you can guess the rest. So now I've paid to order it, but it looks like I still won't get it!

looking to get an ipod, but don't really have a clue on which data plan to get.

am looking at the i-medium and i-premium plans. the i-medium is capped at 1GB per month (65,000 won /mo.) and the i-premium is at 3GB (95,000 won/mo.)

but, which data plan would be ideal (depending on how much you use it)? for example, i'd like to use it for browsing, e-mails, fb, slingplayer app, skype (only a little). i wouldnt go crazy with the browsing (daily usage, while on buses and stuff like that), but what about streaming apps like slingplayer?

thanks.
