I think it's absurd to try to pin point what women want. There are all types of women at varying stages in their lives with millions of interests, likes, and dislikes.

Some women go for looks, others for a sense of humor. Some want to be supported, others want to be inspired. Some others just want to have fun.

It really just boils down to the individual, IMO.

I disagree.

Assuming that money is a given, and I almost hate to sound cliche but this is the damn straight up truth! I appreciate that my boyfriend grew up on a farm, has tangible skills and muscles, and knows how to fight and use a gun. He isn't arrogant or weak, or preachy, and he doesn't drink but he lets me do what I want. I'm feeling pretty lucky right about now.

It may be true sometimes, but that doesn't mean that the term isn't offensive. There are plenty of other terms that get far more press as being racist, and I'm sure that sometimes they are even true, but they are WRONG to say.

I'm not offended. You said something ignorant and I pointed out that it wasn't a good idea.

good link. It shows, as I thought, that it was the jews themselves, males obviously, that invented and have run with the concept. That some people find it "offensive" isn't surprising. They always find something to become offended by. screw them.

actually, since I don't know if Jap's have a particular accent/speech pattern, what I was referring to was more along the lines of the old Mike Myers NY Jewish woman Coffee Clatch sketch on SNL

personally, I think Japs tend to reside on the Upper East Side, correct? I'm more into the artsy cool Upper West Side gals.

Screw them?! The women didn't invent the term. Why should they be punished by letting people call them that? Also, you were using the term incorrectly! You're talking about the old Jewish Mother stereotype. Most Jewish people live on the UWS. The UES was traditionally WASP territory, though that is changing now. Those artsy, cool, UWS gals are the ones you are calling JAPS!

You're clueless. I'm going to bow out of this conversation, because you're just yourself digging a deep hole and I don't want to fall in.

Edit for typo.

meh.. the hole isn't that deep. And life is all about falling into holes and then scrambling to get out. Otherwise, what fun would it be?

(I've always thought the UES had both Wasps and Japs). A lot of the UWS Jewish girls don't fit the jap stereotype

I tried to warn you that my list was a little cliche and I still can't deny what I said. I dated an ex marine long ago and there is something very enticing about a guy who has absolutely no fear and knows exactly how to handle himself if a dangerous situation comes up. My boyfriend is very level headed as well so I guess I should have put that on the list too. I made him sound like a huntin', gun totin' nut. But he's the type of guy who would go out of his way to avoid any physical altercation because if something happens, someone could be seriously injured, and it probably won't be him.

Yes but it is funny how these dangerous situations just seem to 'come up' a lot more with guys like this than with other people. Not talking about your BF of course. Wouldn't want to antagonise him Laughing

Right... why would a girl be programmed to like guys who can fight or kill when needed?

It's almost as stupid as guys liking large, child-supporting breasts or symmetrical faces that indicate genetic health Rolling Eyes

Guys are probably programmed to like healthy looking women in general, though different elements have dictated what this constitutes over the years and in different parts of the world. e.g most western depictions of healthy looking women in the past would be considered overweight or obese by modern standards and would have proportionally much smaller *beep*.

Women are probably programmed to like men who are tall, healthy and strong in order to protect them better. However it is unlikely a preference for skill with firearms dates back to the origin of the species.

What I'd like to know is what "useful" or "good" girls are attracted by.

Girls want a bad boy who is only good for them.
Boys want a good girl who is only bad for them.
