And finally, in regards to Airirang TV, apart from not reporting major Seoul strikes/riots on their 'news' (only positive things, please...), they use so many over-the-top adjectives to describe Jejudo Island, or anywhere else for that matter -'the pride of asia' (ugh!), 'paradise', etc. Those things make me sick and must offend some other Asian people too.

If you ever need to do a lesson on superlatives, just tape this Jeju segment for examples.

What about that chubby checker Korean American woman - always wears a berret - very enthusiastic, very nasal.
She, I believe, is a fine human being, but when I watch her show my ears begin to bleed.

Actually, she's way cool...I worked with her for some 8 months when I did my stint at EBS...think I still have video footage of us (usually cut early as you can see me cracking up).

Shoosh,

Ryst

I didn't know one of the Dark Bros. (Gregory (aka "Greg Brown/Greg Hippolyte") was working in South Korea! I guess his lucrative career directing music videos for Britney Spears, Sublime, and Mandy Moore was not fulfilling. I guess we'll never see that werewolf movie he was going to do with Oshay Jackson - er "Ice-Cube."

I kinda liked his take on the DEVIL IN MISS JONES films too. What a waste... Twisted Evil

Cheers,

Joe

I'm a big fan of that Lisa Kelly, hot hot hot! (ok, in that cute sexy way but still...!)

Who mentioned that beer expert with the wife that wrote the book? I wonder if that's Andy Salmon, former Porkers in the Korea Herald? He's a bit of a food/drink buff, he actually wrote a food guide in Korea with his wife. Wife is a restuarant consultant. Good bloke that guy is. Never met his wife.

Yeah, that bloke seems ok. I think he's English. Going by looks, I think his rather 'ample' wife must have sampled about a zillion more high calorie meals than him! What a porker! I bet he feels sick if/when they visit other Asian countries where the females tend to be much more attractive, slimmer, and with a pleasant personality! I've met quite a few blokes who came over on the banana boat, wet behind the ears... and married the first Korean woman who showed them any attention.

Isaac sucks.

This thread is pretty funny (with the exception of a few yawn-inducing middle pages where the men get off track discussing relative hotnesses of various women...)

Lisa is pretty annoying with her perma-smile and the way she is always giggling at everything Stephen says.

Isaac, love him or hate him - I really don't think he gives a rats butt while checking his account balance at the bank. I've heard from someone who knows someone that is related to someone that knows someone that is the second cousin of someone that knows someone that knows him, that his personality on TV ("over the top") is the same as when he is not on TV! Scary.

What is the general consensus about Stephen Revere (sp?)? he seems to have escaped the opinions of the board.

I saw a western guy on gag concert this past Saturday. I think it was a rerun. Anyway, he had a double chin and brown hair (just mentioning that cuz I didn't get his name). He was really funny in his skit. Finishes it with, "Are you gentle?" in a perfect imitation of a Korean accent. LOL

Ted Gray is hot. He's on EBS now, and I've seen him on Bang Song Dae Hak tv, as well. He knows his grammar, that's for sure. Seems like a nice guy.

I give Stephen Revere the OK. He seems to have the most common sense of the lot. What about the Italian looking dude with the hairy arms. I just can't not see him cruising in a Camaro..

I work for Arirang, so I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies. Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.

But trust me. You dont.

I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you dont know what you are talking about. This is how bad info gets passed around. If you dont know about the topic. Dont make yourself sound like you do.

Um... who are you talking to/about? If it's the posters on this page, in 2006, from Corporal on down, then they do know what they're talking about, since they're talking about their own opinions.

If it's the posters prior to Corporal's post, then you're talking to dead people. And you seem to be telling these dead people, "lookit me! lookit me!" Why?
