My friend is 81 years old. She has s a PHD and speaks five languages. She was required to wear high heels all of her professional life, as is often the case here in Korea (she also likes them).
Now, on each foot, her second smallest toe is completely crossed over the next biggest toe, making walking painful and a real problem.
Doctors have offered that amputating the wayward toes is the only way to alleviate this handicap, she won't do that.
Heels are a cruel joke played upon a woman's vanity. |

| Not overly...and they verge on being ridiculous if worn around cobblestones. |

Seriously, every time I see a woman in high heels I thank the pantheon that I have a wang. Uncomfortable and impractical fashion is rife in the females of the species and I wonder why anybody would endure that stuff. |
I often wonder why you, beaver, wear an uncomfortable suit - complete with jacket, tie and tie clip - even on hot days in June.
Same-same. |

In my defense I know I'm not fashionable. |

High heels, makeup, and several other things, like unnecessary cosmetic surgery, should never have been invented.
I can see some of it being useful as an actor or a porn star.
This is just an idea. I may be wrong. I like the allure and fantasy too.
Wouldn't it be nice if what you see is what you get, and what you present is what you are?
We're a pretentious bunch. |

High heels on cobblestones + (as is often the case) booze is one of the best things I have repeatedly seen.
I'll quote a dear friend, who happens to have a particular liking for a lady's most southerly region: "If you're standing in front of me in the bedroom with nothing but those shoes and your knickers, phwoar! But sweetheart, walking down the street like John Wayne just ain't the way, no matter what you've got on!" |

| Obviously high heels are attractive. The best way to see them is when she is only wearing high heels, and no other clothing (except maybe garter belt is good). |

| They're sexy if a woman knows how to walk in the them. The worst thing is a woman walking in 3-4 inch heels as if she's trying on her mommy's shoes for the first time. Or walking like a man. It's painful to watch. |

I notice that many of the women in Japan can't properly walk in high heels. Koreans on the other hand, they can mountain climb on high heels |

That's probably because they have actually climbed a mountain in those shoes. I've heard young women here hike with their heels on which is kind of insane.
A Korean woman asked me recently what Americans think of Korean women's propensity for wearing heels all the time and I told her honestly that most of us would say they're crazy. She was shocked in that innocent girl kind of way and she said they just think their legs don't look good without them. Whatever the case, I just wear them when I know I won't be on my feet a lot. I don't want to wreck my feet for the sake of fashion. |

I love the look of high heels, but they're impractical. Especially when you live in a city like Seoul and walk around a lot and use the subway. I feel bad for the Korean girls who wear them all the time.
I like to wear heels if I'm dressed up to go out, and if I'm taking a taxi. |

| I'm a guy and I don't think there's anything special about heels. They go nice with some outfits, but they don't have any special allure. |

I almost always wear high heels when going out and sometimes with corporate gigs (only b/c my pants are to long)
1) there hot
2)it builds up every single muscle in your leg so your legs look hot
Get 3 pairs of comfortable expensive ones that will last
The K-girls buy these cheap pairs where the heels break off, they are not going to be comfortable. |

I'm a girlygirl (my name says it all) gotta have my heels. Actually, when I was in m 20's, I wore heels all the time. I worked and ran in them, couldn't live without them. But now I have to admit, not sure if the age thing (30 something) I find heels quite unbearable sometimes. But then again, I have never met a woman who doesn't own a pair of heels. Heels make you taller and sexier too......at least in my case And I totally agree, invest your money in a good pair of heels, b/c your health will thank you later. |
