And of course you are not partisan in the slightest either...
When someone as 'strongly' partisan as you are accuses other people of being partisan it kind of negates anything else he has to say, because people are too busy laughing at him. Just a heads-up.
Drop the hyperbole and maybe people on this forum will take seriously some of the things you have to say. Look at the threads you have recently started...you are really turning people off with these rants. This is not a flame BTW just an observation. |
Yeah, right. You are joking, right? You, the single most partisan person on this board? Some one who enters virtually any thread in which I aprticipate just to drop a pointless comment supposedly shwoign me up?
Please. If people can't see the difference between truth and reality, that is their problem. I am not using hyperbole. Not even a little. People are lying for partisan bull, or are just plain unintelligent. It's simple. |

| After reading all the evidence presented on this post I hereby declare EFLtrainer to be right. Kerry was talking about Bush. He was not suggesting that the Yank troops are dumb but that Bush is. |

| And it was arrogant, hypocritical, defamatory and slanderous to portray it as other than it was. Kerry should sue Bush (when he leaves office), you, and everyone else who spouted that crap. |

No, Kerry should throw his "war medals" at Bush. |

He said what he said.
It is not up to the listener to ensure the intent.
It is up to the speaker to assure the intent has been heard.
It took three days for Kerry to clarify his intent.
I know that Kerry has a large head but his thoughts or intent do not magically emanate from his oversized brain into everyone elses.
We have all accepted, after the fact and after his humble apology, that his intent was different from that of some of his previous history.

At teh risk of repeating myself.
Another infamous John Kerry quote.
"There are all kinds of atrocities, and I would have to say that yes, yes, I committed the same kinds of atrocities that thousands of other soldiers have committed, in that I took part in shooting in free fire zones."

This igrnores every facet of communication and is flat wrong. The listener is an equal broker. When you hear what you want to hear, you are at fault. You, and they, either made no attempt to understand his words in context, or you lied about what he said. It was obvious what he said.
Also at fault are the idiots who edited the videos to create an ou-of-context quote. That's honest? Bulshit. Equally guilty are the people like yourself who, even after being told what the truth was, not only refused to acknowledge it, but made no attempt to look at the full context of the speech becuase it suited your agenda for Kerry to seem to be insulting the troops.
Kerry didn't even misspeak. In the context of his speech, his comments were easily understood. This is on you, not him. |

No, no, no, that is completely untrue.
I accepted John Kerry's excuse as soon as he released the written speech.
I accepted the acknowledgement that he mispoke.
I accepted that it was not his intent to smear the troops as he released the written speech.
The fact that he mispoke is evident his written speech is not what he said.
No doubt about it.
What he should have said and what he did say.
The problem being is that, what he said is what was heard.
I also don't pick up the little intent signals from his massive brain.
Even I can be guilty of mispeaking and assuming others will understand my intent.
Why did so many people not read his intent correctly?
History.

It's both telling yet funny how a half-hour satire has a better understanding of a situation than the political pundits. |

That was really funny!
Talking about the 2006 elections:
"How bad is this for the Democrats?"
"Well, pretty bad, John. The President's re-engerized once again. The election boils down to George W Bush and John Kerry"
"The President already won that fight"
"Yes, but to maintain congress, Republicans must exume the bloated political corpse of John Kerry, and reanimate it, so then they can kill him again" |

What he 'said' (without meaning it) was that poor people and stupid people end up in the military, NOT that the military is stupid. What he meant was that Bush was stupid. Either way, nobody with a good grasp of English and cursory analysis skilss could interpret the way it the way the media and the republicans did unless they were blinded by partisanship.
