Can anyone hook me up? I always have >1.50 share ratios on all torrent sites I'm a member of. I won't get you banned.

I've been on oink for over 4 years and never managed to get an invite...

I hope you like downloading stuff you'll never listen to, it's the only way to keep your ratio high.

these two statements make me think that you're not a member and have probably never been a member.

firstly, i have 7 invites. and i've only been a member for 6 months.

secondly, downloading and seeding is the wrong way to keep your ratio up ... in fact, it's a sure fire way of getting booted, because torrents are so well seeded that the only way to keep your ratio up is to upload original music to the site.

what's your member id on oink? i'd love to see your ratio.

??? Wow, so touchy. If you must know, my current stats are as follows:

Ratio: 0.765 Uploaded: 25.81 GB Downloaded: 33.75 GB

Of the ten things I'm currently seeding, only three are above 1.00 yet the other seven have been seeding for over three months (at least). Of the 3 torrents above 1.0, I will listen to 0 of them.

Granted, I stick to to the indie/experimental/audibooks genres but no matter how many leechers there are I can't seem to seed enough. Also, I didn't hae access to high speed internet before coming S.Korea so I think that also has something to do with it. So, I guess I should clarify my point: unless you want to download crap that I wouldn't listen to, it's hard to get any oink invites.

From what I can gather, I am by no means alone so feel free to pat yourself on your back all you want..........why would someone lie about being a member anyway?

4 years and no invites? that's a long time to be a member of a community, but still not understand how to use the community to your benefit.

as i already said, you can't survive on oink by seeding other people's uploads. you need to upload music yourself. why would you download stuff you won't listen to? just to seed? oink doesn't work that way ... it's a completely different downloading and seeding philosophy to other sites.

once you get your ratio above 1.05 (admittedly, it does take some effort) then you are given extra privileges. the two main privileges are that your account is not deleted due to inactivity, and you're given invites, twice a month (i think) until you have a maximum of 10 invites.

i gave one away today (in another discussion on this board) and coincidentally i received another invite credit too, so i still have 7 invites.

i'm sorry for calling you a liar if you are genuinely a member. but your original points struck me as rather odd, and rather at odds with the way oink works.

as for what you 'gather' ... well, i couldn't care less how self-righteous you or anyone thinks i am. this is the internet and worthless opinions are a dime a dozen ... especially on eslcafe.

if you are an oink member, my id is super_dave ... i like some indie stuff, so i'd like to have a look at your collection.
