Looks like we'll be moving to Korea ASAP as soon as we get our visas. Any Spanish speakers there?

there are some on this board. outside of the board, i've spoken my broken spanish to only a few people:

1 - those south american musicians (possibly peruvian?) who play at yongsan and sometimes nambu terminal.
2 - the mexican chef at casa loca.
3 - some puerto rican soldiers.

There are a few Spanish speakers in the hiking club I frequent.

Saying that it's an English speaking hiking club, so everyone tries to speak English, but it sometimes doesn't work out.

Good luck with the move.

I speak a bit of Spanish. Not a lot, but some. I actually found myself chatting in Spanish with one of my sixth-grade students yesterday; as it turns out, he lived in Mexico for a year.

There are three ladies that sell jewelry downtown and their daughter is in my class.

Last year, I was traveling though An Dong for the mask festival. I noticed all of these names on the doors of the hotels like eduardo, lucia, etc. I kept an eye out, and tracked down several traditional mexican and costa rican dancers in town for the festival. We partied all weekend and they are coming back for this week!

sorry its so small.

I've met several others out and about. I guess I keep an eye out to try and keep up on my spanish. Guess I'm like those koreans that won't leave you alone because they want to practice their english.

Macondo Salsa Club in HongDae and Itaewon has another salsa club (above Nashville I think?).

Those would be some places to start to meet some Spanish speakers.

Naturegirl,

I am a fluent Spanish speaker (I taught Spanish in the USA for several years). I don't know where you will be living, but I am near Ulsan. If you need someone to converse, let me know.

Buena suerte.-FL

Many spanish speakers here. There are also a lot of peruvians here working in factories or as entertainers. When you get here you should have no problem getting together with some.
