I have some left over yen from my trip to Japan.
It would be silly to convert it back to won and then convert
won to dollars. I think instead I should convert the [[correction]] yen
to dollars and take it home with me to the US.
Where will I get the best rate? A Korean bank?
The Japanese airport? The airport in Houston?
Chicago?

Your best bet to convert YEN to USD is either in Japan or the states. On the small amount you have it won't make much difference between the two. Your bank in the states will probably give you the best rate of the choices you mentioned. YEN is a global currency and it is holding it's value very well against the falling greenback.
If you convert it here they will change it to WON then convert the WON to USD and you get hit with the differential spread twice. |
