I'll admit thet I'm guilty of trolling real reality's whining rants about the inequity working and living in Korea, but I made a concious decision to work in the US rather than Korea. That said, I've seen my income increase an average of 15%-28% over the past 5 years on average. FYI, I work in the US dealing heavily with a South Korea account.
I get 1:1 matching on the first 6% of my 401k, with 50% on the remainder, up to 15%, as well as health/dental insurance. I've got other bennies available such as 100% tuition assistance for career related course work. I could have remained in Korea, put up with the BS, and let my peers pass me by, but I wanted to move foward in my career and took a proactive stance.
What are your plans? Are you going to take control of your career? |
