I was hoping someone could save me a trip. Does anyone know if the shops in Itaewon have the new hockey jerseys for this season, or are they still selling last year's versions?

Thanks.

hey diver,

I'm a big hockey fan too. I'm going home for a few months in November. If you haven't had any luck finding what you're looking for, PM me in January and I'll purchase your team's jersey (either home or away) and meet up with you when I get back. Let me know.

Hoss

That's nice of you Hoss. Actually, I'll be home around the same time. I'd rather buy them here because $25 vs $125 is a deal too good to turn down. I was just hping they have new ones in in Itaewon. Though, the new Leafs jerseys suck big time this year.

Aren't the new Reebok jerseys sexified by becoming tight and aerodynamic, thus only looking good with pads and not on some guy with a beer belly? Or is it like rugby and they make pro jerseys and fatass fan jerseys?

Well, at least the jerseys aren't the only thing about the Leafs that suck...

Seriously, though, I dig your avatar and I wish the Leafs (love to hate them tho I do) had gone back to that old school logo. WAAAAY better than that goddammed fish we got out in Vancouver!

Let the season begin!

Nice.

Yes, I do (especially when I play hockey). What's it to you?

Playing hockey is ok.

Adults wearing hockey jerseys in public, off the ice, is pretty tacky.

Even at a game? Even for kids? Since you don't know why I want the jerseys, and since it's none of your friggin' business, why don't you put a sock in it? Pinhead.

Speaking of tacky...the thread is a request for info. You don't have any, yet decided to post a critical response anyway...Look in a mirror, dingbat.

Actually, I used to sell hockey jerseys. I was a sales rep for CCM in the 90's. I'm not up now on what companies are making them, but when I was selling them there were Sprort Maska (CCM), Starter, and Nike (Bauer). There were three kinds: to the best of my memory there were ultrafill, suprafill, and pro. From worst to best.

Ultrafill had a lesser quality of fabric and were cheaper.

Suprafill was more of a breathable mesh fabric.

Pro were pro and available with a fighting strap upon request and the material depended on team design.

For the pros, at least, only one company had the rights to certain teams. I think that the under-pro jerseys were a free for all as far as the rights to the jersies were concerned. But I'm not sure right now. Can't remember. I didn't only sell jerseys, but also equipment and skates. Wholesale to stores.

So you should be looking for the company and the fabric when comparing.
