Public School: My Co teacher mentioned this on Friday and tried to explain what it was exactly. As hard as she tried, I didn't understand what it was all about. She said it wasn't too important in my case (whatever that meant). Can anyone enlighten me please?
Cheers, G

If you are on an F class visa you have to pay employment insurance.
If you are on an E class visa you are EXEMPT from paying because you can never collect - no job = no visa = no stay in Korea.
If your school is trying to collect and you are on an E2 then you should call your provincial liason and get it straighted out. E2s do NOT pay employment insurance. |

Yes, on F series visas you have to pay unemployment tax, but it is pretty low.
I went through the same thing when I started at the public school in June of 2006 and it was difficult for them to explain what it was. |
