Being a musician, I'm always looking for people to play with. I know there are alot of musicians here; it's just hard to find them. So maybe a network would make it easier. New people coming to Korea would find it easier to hook up and make some music with other people.
I've checked eslcafe, pusanweb and seoulscene and there is nothing there for musicians to connect with except a few bar adverts.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a community of sorts(like Facebook) in Korea where musicians list their city, styles, instruments, schedules, willinigness to travel, etc. ?
We could post events, projects and funky ideas like maybe having an annual free festival on some beach some where in the summer where all the musicians show up to play for a weekend on a stage and a few workshops or song circles. That would be cool ... kind of like a rave-folk festival with a secret location and all. It wouldn't be that hard to organize with a network.
This is where I need everybodies help to spread the word. I've started a group, "Rockin the ROK" under the Korean network on Facebook. It's also under my profile. Check it out please. Any ideas or helpful hints are welcome so ... please feel free. So all you musicians out there, get cracking and sign up.
