Hey..
Since I still have 2 years left of university it will be some were around the end of 2009 when I have the chance to kick start my teaching adventure. I was just wondering what people think the situation would be like then..
Will there still be plenty of jobs, I know people have been teaching for years but has and will it become more competitive in the upcoming years?
Korea is my preferred place to start off, then maybe move on to somewhere else..as I don't really plan on living in England after study, not the closest with my family so homesickness shouldn't be a problem.
Just a side thought, I'm studying Illustration, I'm guessing there is opportunity if your good enough to get some freelance work, maybe land a design/art job. Does anyone know anything about this, what restrictions are in place etc. If its possible after a few years teaching it would be cool to make a living doing what I have trained for, am good at. And preferably in Asia. |

Although things change FAST in the far-east, I wouldn't worry too much, 2009-10 isn't far away enough for there to be no jobs in Korea for you. It might even be a better deal as China attracts some of the teachers away from Korea... |

nice one for the reply seoul.
China is another place I wouldn't mind living for a year or so, I doubt any longer from experience I've had there from visits, but I don't have the right to say as living there might be amazing. I know I love Chinese culture and history..not sure about the people however..
Is there anyone here that has gone over to Korea, Japan, Hong Kong etc to teach and ended up working over there in a different profession. I know art is universal, but has anyone gone down that path and found and worked in advertisement, design of some form. Or maybe taken some kind of internship?
Or any other professions, how was the transaction from teaching to another profession, was it very difficult? |
