Hello guys, looking for a bit of advice about sending documents for visa processing. My employer is asking for me to send my passport, degree parchment and academic transcripts via fedex so they can sort out the visa before I get there. Is this standard practice, or is it normally copies that are sent? I am particularly dubious about sending my passport away! Hope someone can offer some advice on this! |

This is standard practice (i did it, and my lil brother just did it and got his back as well). You dont have to send your diploma if you get a copy of it notarized, but like i said it is normal and you have to do it to get your E2.
EDIT: I should note that the posters below me are right. A copy, not your real passport. I probably should have mentioned that. Oh well... I was tired. x_x

it isnt NOT NORMAL!! not your passport!!!!!!!!!!!
absolutely do not send your passport to korea! jesus christ!
you send a copy of the picture page of your passport!!
you have to send 6 things
1) degree *actual or notarized copy*
2) signed contract
3) copy of picture page of passport
4) 2 passport sized pictures of yourself
5) resume
6) sealed transcripts
do not send your passport, i have never heard of anyone doing that...and no employer of mine has ever asked...anyone who does that is a complete idiot. a passport is never supposed to leave your person. |
