|
|
| I need to buy a PC just for P2P TV. I don't care about anything else except for a video card with composite or component out. I don't even need a monitor. Any ideas on where I can get one and how much I should pay? |

I think you can get into a computer for 250,000 or so with monitor. It wouldn't be worth it to go any cheaper than that to get a Pentium III, for example. I think you should aim to get at least a 2Ghz machine, and preferrably a 2.4Ghz of some kind.
Oddly, your system may depend more on a graphics card than anything else. |

Yongsan - across the tracks from the subway station, look for the big Gigabyte sign.
You should be able to get a [email protected] for about 200k with a decent video card (Nvida GT7600 for example).
Pentium D (dual core) for about 250k.
Used for even less - 120 & 200k (system sans monitor). |

If it's the same building, it's now a big NVidia sign. |

| you can get external hard drives that also have the additional feature of video out. you might want to look into that. it's just an external hard drive with some additional hardware that adds video playback functionality (including divx movies). |

Problem is, unless I'm mistaken, is that he needs the computer to actually download the movies/TV shows. If he doesn't, or the HD you're talking about does this, it would be a good solution.

Yeah. Being a Mac person, I need a PC to handle the P2P TV apps that are out there. I just need a tower with XP and S-video, composite, or (do they even make this?) component out. Since I've never used P2P TV before, I'm just looking for tips on the kind of specs I need in the machine.
Thanks for all the replies everybody |
