have you heard of a slingbox? basically it allows someone from back home (friend or family) to connect their digital cable box to a highspeed internet connection, allowing you to surf their cable package just like back home.

Have them set it up with a computer at the house, then once set up you will be given a code and then you can download slingbox on your computer from slingbox.com and enter the special code. Just some advice, have whoever is buying the slingbox buy an extra cable box also, its a pain trying to watch it on the same one as your family. When you turn the channel on there, it turns it on the tv also.

I don't believe that you can hook it up straight to a TV, I believe. I could be wrong, but I thought it had to be a cable box. Let me know how it works out for ya'
