OK, so my school is always deep into my business, which I understand as I am a marvel of endless curiosity to them. However, when I am sick does the whole school really have to know about it?

My co-teacher has shown me a file, with information about other teachers in my district, that even if it wasn't confidential was none of my business.

How private is our health information when we use the national health insurance? If go to see a doctor about explosive diarrhea will have to relive the Shawarma incident of September 07?-Trust me never see a school nurse about anything.

Is it in any way administered by our schools?

Your school doesn't see your insurance records, at least I've never heard of it. If you live in a small town and go to a doctor, however, he will know some of your teachers and may talk. A lot of people, esp. women, go to other cities for the doctor if they live in a small town.

In some cities you can go and ask the public officer for some one's medical records, if "you have a reason to need them." They aren't really supposed to give them out, but in fact they do.

None of your health records are private. Trust me. If someone wants to find out, they will find out. The doctors here will give your boss/school anything they ask for.

Our area Woori bank even calls our school's accounting staff to tell them when us foreign teachers transfer money back home. Happened to both myself and a guy who works here.

Bank manager tells us to wait, calls the school's accounting team, "Did you know XXXXX is transferring 8 million won home right now?"

We now go to banks a few stops away to transfer money.

How's that for privacy?

Good that you went to a different bank, though I'll say "your teacher has money in the USA" is less personal than "your teacher has crabs and a case of the flu."
