Sigma 150mm f 2.8 APO Macro DG for Nikon for sale. 400,000 won
An avid macro photographer, I recently, and slightly impulsively, purchased this lens at Namdaemun mkt. to compliment or replace my aging Micro Nikkor 105mm D. I wanted a lens that would give me more working distance and the notion of a tripod collar had appeal. Upon testing it this week, I found the Sigma to be sharp and very well-built, a real beauty.
But...
I found the Sigma 150mm the working distance for macro, while slightly greater than my Micro 105mm is not long enough for me to justify replacing the Nikkor.
The lens is in mint condition, comes with Sigma's padded case, strap and a international warranty from the Japanese distributor. This makes it a "grey market" import but the warranty card inside clearly states it is valid worldwide.
Average price on Danawa.com around 750,000 won. http://pc.danawa.com/price.html?dica=dica&cate1=842&cate2=1157&Ca_ram=undefined
Here are links to reviews of this highly regarded lens:

Finally, a quote from a reviewer who sums up the general concensus regarding this lens:
At the end of the day, the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro seems to offer the best bang of just about anything in its focal length/aperture range. If you're interested in shooting really close-up macro, yet with a reasonable working range, the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 looks to be a really excellent choice.
ps: I live in Daegu.
pps: While a dedicated macro, many users report that the Sigma 150mm makes a great lens for indoor sports, street candids and other situations where speedy focus, wide apertures and medium distance is required.
Feel free to post any questions you may have.
And, reply by p.m. if interested in arranging to meet.

| This is definitely a nice lens. Generally speaking, there's no such thing as a bad macro lens - but this one is generally regarded as one of the best. Good luck with selling it. |

nice lens ... and nice D80 too, by the way.
i had a 105mm nikon macro. nice lens, sharp as a tack, but i just didn't get the use out of it ... it's quite a specific purpose lens. the nikon is a heavy chunk of glass, so that sigma must weigh a ton!
this 150mm looks good though. it's got a collar, which is important.
to help potential buyers ... macro lenses actually make good portrait lenses. especially the 105-150 mm range ... because the lens shape gives a more natural look and has less barrel distortion.
good luck with the sale! |

I would love to get my hands on that lens, but don't have the funds. I currently have the D80 with the 18-200MM VR lens, which is working out good for me, but I've been wanting to get Macro lens with the low aperture. Anyways good luck on the sale.
Here's a bump for you. |

| I will be coming to Seoul the weekend after this, if someone there would like to check out the lens. |

It IS a specialty item - especially on Dave's.
Be patient.
If you're desperate to sell, you can try Auction or the camera shops (although they will low ball you to the extreme).
Anyways - good luck! |
