Hi,

Just hoping to get some info on a DVD player. I don't mind buying an old one from someone, or if anyone knows where I can get a new one for cheap.

Do you think it's ok to have a friend send me one from China? Or would the import/customs guys tax it to bits?

And I'm in a rural area, so mentioning places in/around Seoul aren't very useful. Wink

If you got one for sale, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks! I've been looking on that site...but on the English version, which doesn't offer the dvd players. Weird. Thanks for the info.

If you get to a Homever store, you can find a few good cheap models there. There are many Homever stores around Seoul. Ask a Korean for the closest one, or if you can read Korean:

http://www.homever.com/shopping/shopping01_01.asp

Several stores are listed on the left.

You can pick up players that also do DIVX via USB port for 70,000 won there. I know that one works, as I own it. I think they have a cheaper non-DIVX model, too.

I would be careful if you buy one on the internet without trying it. We bought a Gmarket one. It only plays about 1/3 of our American DVDs. When we called to try to return it, they just said "oh yeah. that one is like that." Twisted Evil

Sorry to hear that.. is it the Bitmax MD-C281? Mine has behaved itself very well with US / UK / Kor originals and burned discs, and the USB input is a godsend
