Selling my !997 Daelim VS Cruise (Advance) 125
Runs great, very cheap, short wheel base and light so it's easy to ride, especially in tight traffic, great for beginners or someone who might want a cheap nimble bike.
New seat, replaced the speedometer (with a used one), new gas tank, new clutch plates (so it shifts great), new chain and sprocket, fresh oil change, spark plug and carb cleaning. I love the bike and I'm only selling it because I don't ride it anymore (I have a bigger bike).
This bike looks good and runs very well. I was also pretty anal about having it fixed up. I've fixed the bike so that it's in better shape than when I got it. There is some rust on the rear rack and a ding on the new tank (I dropped it once) as well as some old scratches on the muffler. I've put limited miles on the bike because I use my bigger bike, this was my learner bike and my backup. This is a great little bike with a great engine (Honda designed
450,000 won with HJC helmet, a map book of Korea and winter leather gloves.
Available at Hanyang University Station Line 4.

I own this same bike and have no complaints. Actually, I do have one small complaint and that is the speedometer and RPM gauge that never works. It's been replaced a couple of times and it always seems to screw up. I could get a brand new one for about W100,000 but as it doesn't affect the bike's performance...

I'll preface by saying I am not a light individual and I tip the scales at ove 100kg. That being said, it scoots along quite well with me aboard, even up hills. I have had it up to and a tad over a 100kph for short bursts but it's not recommended... I'm quite happy with it. |

125 cc bikes are super cheap on gas, I haven't found any specs on the efficiency of this model. But you can be sure that it's the cheapest thing to run next to a 50cc bike. The faster the top speed, the more gas they suck, the VS Cruise has a low top speed of 100KM/h (can be pushed to 105). My Hyosung Troy (with race exhaust and high flo air filter) can go 115 and it uses slightly more gas.
The bike cost me about 7,000 won for a 3 and a half hour trip while my Honda 400 cost twice that much for the same trip (took only 3 hours though - traffic really doesn't let you drive safely at high speeds).
125cc (four stroke)bikes are not exactly known for there ability to climb hills. You might find yourself being forced to shift down to first. I haven't met a hill I can't climb with my 125 in Korea. In Nepal on the other hand my bud and I couldn't double up some of the mountains, I had to jump off and watch my pal ride it up while I ran. A 250 is the minimum for hill climbing and expressways. The 125 is the best around town cheap as shit bike (those 50cc bikes just don't have enough power to tackle all roads in the city). |
