I suppose this is a fair follow-up to the "Rare things in Korea" post.

Some things of course may only seem unique to Korea if you haven't seen them in another country. Depends on your travel experience or if indeed some things here are perhaps unique to Korea.

The first one that comes to mind for me is the smiling or happy pig or cow character you see on restaurants. I still get a kick out of it. It's like the cow/pig with the grin or thumbs up expression is saying, "Come on in. Eat the family. We taste good!"

How about scissors for cutting meat?

In other countries, do good-looking girls dance in front of newly opened businesses? (Let's celebrate the opening of the fifth kimbap joint within this square kilometer!)

Ah I'm sure there are many more not currently available to my consciousness.

Saw that in Vietnam.

How about the 10 year old kid who had to take a month hiatus from our English hakwon because he's developed a noticeable twitch, due to the stress of all of his other hakwons? Shocked

I think Japan may have as many, if not more, internet arranged group suicides. Its epidemic there. Korean internet arranged group suicides may be merely another way they copy everything from Japan and the US.
