Hi
I am a student from Singapore who is visiting Korea for 2 weeks in October. I
am not so sure if my Cell Phone will work there. I need phone there since I am expecting some important calls from Singapore ( Interview results etc).
1. Is it possible to make my GSM phone work in Korea?
2. Is it possible to rent a phone in Korea for 2 weeks.
3. What other option do I have.
Thanks,

2 weeks? - rent a phone from the airport when you arrive. You just need your credit card and passport.
It will be cheaper than using global roaming and easier to use with better connectivity. The networks here are CDMA - there is very limited GSM coverage .
Alternatively, buy a cheap used phone - 30k won and prepaid service - if you have much use this will be even cheaper than a rental.
