ive been reading around the web and found there is diving in korea, but where is best? im coming to Korea to teach and the decision on where i go may be affected by the diving. I dive in the UK so cold/bad vis etc doesnt bother me, just as long as there is an active diving scene for at least part of the year. |

I've been diving on Jeju a few times. Wasn't alot to see, but it bad either. I would imagine there are some decent dives. I heard there are some good drift dives down there, but didnt have the time to do them. I think that there is diving along the west coast, but I haven't gotten around to making it out.
If all else fails, the Philippines is only a few hours away and the diving is amazing!!! |

The west coast is all soft mud bottom and not good for diving.
The east coast has some OK diving. The south coast is also OK but nothing special or to write homea about.
You are a 4 hour flight from some GREAT diving in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
With a little more time you can get to places like Palau (via manila - asian spirit airline) that have superlative (among the best in the world - bar none) diving.

thanks guys, i agree, the phillipines is awesome, by far the best diving ive ever done. to be truthful though the kind of diving im most keen to get into is the teaching side of things. im a newly qualified instructor (PADI) and want to start getting my cert numbers up so i can progress a little higher and then make an actual sustainable living somewhere like the phillipines out of it.
does anybody know how in demand instructors are, im not really looking to get paid for it, we dont in the UK anyhow. just really as a sociable hobby thing i suppose. |

Do a search on google for Commercial Diving Training in South Africa.
It's half the price and a bit of the one in Fort William but gives you the equivalant qualiifications.
Pretty sure with your PADI Cert you can skip a stage in it as well saving more money. |
