Hi,

I have been thinking of getting a teaching job in Kwangju as I have some Korean friends there.

What is it like to live in from the point of view of a westerner teaching English?

Any information from ppl that have lived there or just visited would be great.

Cheers.

If you mean the one down south, there was a thread a few days ago about it. http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=100267&highlight=1%2Fdistance

Read through it and the other 2 threads linked there.

I'll take the other option and guess you mean the Gwangju just SE of Seoul.

It's near Seoul and you can get there by bus anytime. But the city itself is drab, small and NOT a big city.

If you have no experience and that's as close to Seoul as you can get...good.

If you want to live in Seoul and not travel an hour or so to your favorite Seoul bar and you can hold out for a better job....wait and get a job in Seoul.

Thanks tho. I will check out that link. I am just wondering what teachers there think of the city.
