This is my first time to S. Korea (I'm from the US). I'm (if I get my pick), choosing amongst these cities. How would you rank/describe them? Thanks
Sanbon
Uiwang
Suwon |

I live in Uiwang. Its not nice. Well, the part of it closest to Pyeongchon/Anyang is really nice (Lotte Mart area/Art university) but the rest of it is poor and dumpy (I live on the outskirts of Uiwang, just before the urban area ends and there is a big stretch of woods until Suwon). Nothing particularly interesting in Uiwang.
Suwon isn't very clean but its really funky and interesting to be in, at least thats the impression I got when I was there. There is a lot to see and it seems relatively large (bigger than Anyang/Uiwang).
I've never been to Sanbon so I can't tell you. |

I heard Sanbon is okay from a friend, but never been there myself.
Also, try Ilsan if you can; tons of jobs there and best place to live in the Seoul area imo, better than Seoul itself if you ask me. Poeple are more relaxed and genrally nicer, place is clean and more wide open spaces, public facillities are great, lots to do at La Festa and Jeongbasan mountain and Lake Park are lovely retreats. |

| Oh, come to think of it, Bundang is probably one of the best places to live outside of Seoul. Its extremely clean, affluent and aesthetically pleasing, and it has just about every convenience you'd ever need. |

Agreed. Loved living there, wish I still did. Only reason I moved was because I was constantly on buses back into Seoul and that god tiring. |

| No such thing as "which is the nicest", the correct expression is, "which is the least ugliest". |

Where do you get your standards from?
I think Bundang, and other Seoul satellite cities, as well as certain parts of Seoul... would be considered nice the world over.
Then again, the only big city I've ever seen before coming here was Montreal, and I was only there for one day |

| Sanbon would be my choice. It's in a valley and quite clean/new. Suwon is way too Christian and Uiwang is undeveloped, although fun for scooter rides and the Bugok Railroad Museum (seriously best museum in the country). |
