Since I am in Korea and will soon be changing jobs, I'd like anyone's advice on how much salary to request.

Here is my experience:

1 year teaching adults at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Bango-jin.
1 summer teaching advanced high school students at Duke University in North Carolina
Wrote most of an online English course for one of the world's largest ESL organizations
Professional writer and editor
Substitute teaching in the U.S.
Creative writing teaching in the U.S.

I want to stay in Ulsan, by the way.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Experience doesn't count for a whole lot here. Being in the country is more important than experience I would say.

May I ask why you want to stay in Ulsan though? I stayed at a friend's place once for two weeks there, and it is a dreadful, dull, devoid of life city IMO. Really curious as to why you would choose Ulsan over Seoul or nearby Busan.

Also, rule of thumb here in Korea, the richer the area, the better the pay, but the more spoiled the students, and the more complaints from parents. (Gangnam, Ilsan, Bundang.)

There is a wonderful church in Ulsan, and I have made some friends here. I really don't want to live in Seoul or anywhere else. People are important to me Smile
