|
|
I did a search and found a few GnB's that are to be avoided, along with a couple of threads about Gumi that are 2+ years old, so I'm wondering if anyone has any current info on the school(s) there. One old thread mentioned some kind of big company overhaul and that it was now being run by a korean guy from Canada. Does anyone know if being under new management has extended to all their franchises, or only a few core schools, and if so was it for the better?
I'm told that this particular job would have me working at two different campuses, and I don't know how I would like that. Has anyone else done this? I was hoping to be in a more urban area, Seoul (or sattellite city) or Busan, but if I find a school that is up to par, I would accept the job, so location isn't that vital.
I'm still waiting to hear from the current foriegn teacher (only one, and I would be replacing him/her) and thought I would check here as well. They have a very sleek looking website, but I'm only taking that at face value at the moment. One begins to wonder if you can be to cautious after reading so many bad things about the ESL experience...
Anyway, as always, any tips/advice/pearls of wisdom are always appreciated.
Thanks,
Stephen |

| Gumi's not a small place really, as it has enough people to warrant a small community of foreigners. It's not the most beautiful city, but Geumosan is a nice view if you can see it over the towering smokestacks (jk. kinda). And it's only 30min to daegu by train, and less expensive than taking a cab from most parts of Daegu itself. |

| I worked at the GnB in gumi. It was amazing. The director doesn't speak much English but he is a really nice person. The teachers are great, the hours are amazing and the city is fun. Good foreigner community there. |
