Is anyone planning a special Halloween lesson? I'm a bit stumped at what to do, but I think Halloween has the potential to be a fun lesson that the kids will like. I teach high schoolers, but they are quite bad at English, so it needs to be a simple activity. I thought first we'd go over some vocab and learn the "Trick or treat, smell my feet" rhyme (because isn't that an important thing to be able to say in English?! Haha!). & then... what?
I thought about planning how to carve a pumpkin- the kids will draw a face on a paper pumpkin, and then we vote for the best one. I'll show a powerpoint of cool jack-o-lanterns first. We won't have time (or money!) to actually carve pumpkins, though...
Or even watching, "Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin," but I think that's a bit too advanced for them. Are there any other good Halloween cartoons or short movies??
Any other ideas?
