Perhaps a dumb question but if anyone knows the answer it would be greatly appreciated. Other than ebay it's impossible to get a console shipped over here from amazon, etc. Play-asia only does software not games. Through a friend I might be able to get an Xbox360 from the base, but I just wanted to be sure that it would be a U.S. console (NTSC-U) that I would be getting. Thanks in advance............

Doesn't anyone know the answer? I'm assuming it's an american version that is sold on base but I always know what happens when I "assume" anything.

If you buy an XBox 360 from AAFEES PX/BX it is a Region 1 US system.

But if you buy it from one of the Korean vendors inside the base, it is most likely a Korean system.

When I was in the US Army and serving overseas in European countries, AAFES PX on base were selling all American market merchandise like you get at a Wal-Mart store or at a shopping mall in anytown, USA. I bought a Playstation 1 new in Germany years ago on a US base and it was American version as well as the game disks.

I am assuming that in Korea, AAFES is selling American market merchandise for US forces and their dependents. They can get anything you want, but usually are not willing. The typical excuse is, "I only go on base for work and hate going on base." But they have every right to not break the rules set to them by the DOD.

Ok thanks for the info. Again I'm not exactly sure if my friend's friend is willing but she said she'd ask. I don't even know if he has much electronic know how so I'll have to ask her to first see if he would mind, and second if he could go to the right place to get it. Anyway thanks everyone for the answers.
