Me and my dad were discussing this earlier. Is it a good idea to bring all of your money in straight cash or express traveler's checks?
Also, I want to bring a lot of DVDs. Will I be able to carry a lot of luggage on the flight with me? I have heard stories of luggage coming three days later. I have nver flown before. |

Cash or travellers checks - you would be fine either way.
You would USUALLY get 2 bags of 50lbs each coming from the states to Korea. Most airlines get the luggage here on the same flight that you arrive on. If there is a problem it will be with the TSA leaving the states.
Most people OVERPACK, never use the stuff and then have to drag or pay to ship it all back home again when they leave.
DVD rental shops are all over the place and rentals are only a $1 or 2 per week for a DVD. The selection is OK. If you insist on bringing your DVDs, take them out of the plastic boxes and put them in paper slips or a DVD carry case. It will cut your weight and space down a LOT.
Oh, and as a side note: most DVDs from the states won't play in many/most machines here (different regions) unless you get a modded or region free DVD player when you get here. Just so you are aware. |
